A common misconception about tektite is that it has come from outer space. While the formation of tektite is definitely a result of extra-terrestrial activities, it is very much formed right here on Earth. Tektite forms when a meteorite impacts the Earth, the extreme heat causing the surrounding rock to become molten. It then cools, having formed into a natural glass. This process is the same for moldavite, except only the green tektites formed in Czechoslovakia are called moldavite.
Tektites, while powerful, are not known to have as strong an energy as moldavite. For this reason, they are a good stone to use to build up a tolerance before using moldavite. Tektite is useful for channelling the knowledge and wisdom of celestial beings and some cultures believe them to useful for fertility.
