Spirit quartz, sometimes referred to as fairy quartz or cactus quartz, is a variety of quartz that has many tiny quartz crystals growing around and encasing the point. It is found in South Africa and will come in varieties of amethyst, white quartz, citrine, smoky quartz and even sometimes a mixture of these in one cluster. It is a relatively recent find in the crystal world. Spirit quartz which is amethyst is attributed to the zodiac sign Pisces and the citrine variety, to the sign Cancer.
Spirit quartz is said to amplify the energy of whatever variety it is. For example, citrine spirit quartz hold the same metaphysical benefits as normal citrine but it is amplified through all of the little points on the cluster. Spirit quartz is said to encourage peaceful and harmonious relationships and is good for groups or teams of people who need to work together.
