Palo santo is from a tree that is in the same family of trees that produce frankincense. It is native to South America, translating from Spanish to "holy wood" in English. When burned, the wood produces a very fragrant resin. While palo santo has been used medicinally for centuries, we focus on its use in smoke cleansing ceremonies.
One palo santo stick is good for one smoke ritual. It can be used on its own or combined with the use of white sage. For more in-depth information on smoke ceremonies, their history, and how to conduct your own ritual, read our sage guide, here.
