Citrine is the pale yellow/orange variety of the quartz family. It is found around the world but most notably from Brazil. Whilst not a traditional birthstone, it is sometimes used as an alternative birthstone for November. It is one of the zodiac stones associated with Cancer.
Citrine is known as the money stone and is said to attract and increase wealth, prosperity, success, and abundance. It is a particularly useful stone for those who are in business and many choose to carry a piece of citrine in their wallet or place it inside the cash register to encourage their wealth to build.
As citrine never absorbs negative energy, it is one of the few crystals that never need to be cleansed. Most citrine is naturally a pale yellow but is sometimes gently heated to produce darker golden colours.
